Background
Founded in 2006, New Generation of African American Philanthropists, also known as NGAAP-Charlotte, presently comprises nearly 20 donor members based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Much like a book club or investment club, our giving circle includes people who share common values and have committed to pool their charitable dollars and award grants to nonprofit organizations that are having a positive impact on African American children, families and neighborhoods.

We are a new generation showing new generosity while borrowing from lessons of the past and investing in our vision for the future.

Vision
A healthy, safe and prosperous community for African American families to live, work and flourish.

Mission
To promote philanthropy—the giving of time, talent and treasure—among African Americans in the Charlotte region, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life within our communities.

Current Initiative:
The Giving
Back Project

The Giving Back Project is an initiative of New Generation of African American Philanthropists—a giving circle, giving back.

The Giving Back Project provides a means to produce and distribute an artful hardback coffee table book, titled Giving Back: A Tribute to Generations of African American Philanthropists. READ MORE>>
